This beautiful dish is made from spalted beech right here in Southwest Scotland.
Hand turned in my workshop and finished with two coats of a durable food safe wax and oil blend - it could be used for food, but you might change your mind once you see the patterns in the grain!
This bowl has a round bottom with a bit of weight in the piece allowing it to wobble about for a second or two before it sits still.
Although designed with food in mind, this would also be a perfect piece for keeping your jewellery in when you go to bed, or to enjoy for it’s own sake on display in your home.
Each dish has it’s own unique patterning in the grain and varies slightly from the dishes shown here.
